You said you had found her mesmerising,

alluring,

sensual -

my first thought when I saw her was

that your face

was put upon a canvas

detailed to the last flush stroke -

like one of those paintings which

unless you take a moment to absorb

will reel you in, unaware, suggesting

a reality you never had

and never will.

But I have met the muse herself;

I've seen her whole,

unfolding before my eyes.
