A mini photo-film inspired by the striking city of Saigon which can weave humans into characters and stories out of people.
Walking through the smaller backstreets of Ho Chi Minh City I came across an alley full of antique stores. With most of them selling bronze trinkets and the occasional postcard, the huge blue basket filled with photos stood out immediately.
The daughter of the collector shared with much pride that, over his lifetime, her father carefully selected these photographs from disposed family albums of strangers. Their dates range from 1965-1990.

A short, photo-film documentary telling the story of a Greek-Cypriot woman, Chrystalla Loukaidou. Her fond recollections of bicommunal living and Cypriot traditions span from 1940 until today. This personal narration expands into the greater politics of the island through the integration of traditional practices, gastronomy and AI generated images of homecoming.​ (Student Film)
